Fury of the Tempest!

The Warhammer resurrection movement Part 2 was in Cleveland OH in the year of the empire 2017. The game was Mordheim. There were 8 competitors, but only one victor. Stakes where high, but the players were higher, on mountain dew and titty milk bong rips.

Introduction

Hail to thee, champions!

Well knowest thee, the twin tailed comet hath been stricken from the heavens.  The portent of power & mystery, unleashed upon the fallen city, Mordheim. In its wake, Chaos!  Be it the secret wyrdings of the Skaven or Sigmar’s holy fury, men of courage from all known (and unknowable) lands, hath made the pilgrimage to bear witness and seek fortune within the beast’s bedlam.

Wyrdstone shards, splintered from the death-star hath changed the metropolis in ways even we could have foreseen. Horrors, cloven hoofed and tentacled, stalk the streets, blood runneth in the gutters, a bale wych-light shineth through the veil of smog, and in every dark place lurketh the pale eyes and cold chittering of the rat-men.  Verily it is justice that Mordheim thenceforth hath borne the utterance, The City Of The Damned.

Hark! For thou art called, if thou canst findeth thine courage to again descend into the darkened maw.  A new power hath arisen: The Tempest!  The seers and madmen, if indeed there be a difference, speaketh in whispers of a sinister force deep within the bowels the city.  Forsooth! None knoweth for true if The Tempest be but one man, or many, a beast or an angel. Bear witness! Tempest’s corruption canst be felt even here in the Tower of Watch.

Changed men returning from the beguiling maze of twisted streets raving of powerful wizards, warlocks, and fallen priestesses. Each holding a key to the true nature of the tempest. Seeketh  them out! Discover their secrets through might or guile. Each token must be found and bound as one before the Tempest’s shall be revealed.

Bethink oneself of thine mettle!  We, the guardians of the watch, beseech ye, nay, compel: thou must findeth the six artefacts cast throughout the boroughs of the dead-town.  Wherewith such artificer-wrought wherefore thou canst cast down, or enslave, The Tempest, shouldst thine pleasure be such to avail as we have beseeched thee.

Go now, and be not afeared, for lyeth in thine breast is a slumbering appetency to once again trod on the cursed cobbles of Mordheim.

Eternally, we behold.

Result

In the end, after multiple days of combat, it turns out that the ruined metropolis of Mordheim had more surprises in store for the marauding warbands than originally expected. Some groups thrived, while others were decimated, but none were claimed the victor of this campaign. The mighty beast was not slain nor tamed. Perhaps some other day, a different batch of warbands will take up the call and descend upon the City of the Damned in search of The Tempest..
